Sign in to NotebookLM with your Google Account

NotebookLM uses your existing Google Account—no separate sign-up needed. Learn how to sign in, switch accounts, and access notebooks across devices.

NotebookLM uses your Google Account for authentication—no separate account or password is required. If you have a Gmail address or use any Google product, you already have everything you need to sign in.

NotebookLM may not be available in all regions. If the sign-in page does not load or you see an availability message, your region may not yet have access.

Requirements

To use NotebookLM, you need:

• A Google Account — this includes personal Gmail accounts, Google Workspace accounts (work or school), and any other account managed by Google.

No additional software, subscription, or app installation is required. NotebookLM runs entirely in your web browser.

Sign in to NotebookLM

1. Go to NotebookLM

   Open your browser and navigate to notebooklm.google.com.

2. Click Sign in

   Click the Sign in button. If you are already signed in to a Google Account in your browser, you may be taken directly to your notebook list.

3. Choose your Google Account

   Select the Google Account you want to use with NotebookLM. If you have multiple accounts saved in your browser, they will appear in the account chooser. Pick the account you want, and you will be redirected to your NotebookLM home page.

Sign in with multiple Google accounts

If you use more than one Google Account—for example, a personal Gmail and a work Google Workspace account—you can switch between them in NotebookLM.

1. Click your profile picture or account avatar in the top-right corner of the page.
2. Select Switch account from the dropdown menu.
3. Choose a different account from the list, or click Add another account to sign in with a new one.

Each Google Account has its own separate set of notebooks. Notebooks from one account are not visible when you are signed in with a different account.

Access your notebooks across devices

Your notebooks are stored with your Google Account, not on your local device. This means you can access them from any device with a browser:

• Sign in to notebooklm.google.com using the same Google Account on any computer, tablet, or phone.
• All notebooks, sources, and conversation history sync automatically through your account.
• No manual export or transfer is needed when switching devices.

Guest mode

Avoid using NotebookLM in a browser’s guest or private/incognito mode for regular work. While you can sign in, any notebooks you create may not persist after you close the session, and some features may not work as expected.

If you use a shared or public computer, always sign out of your Google Account after your session to prevent others from accessing your notebooks.
